Grants now closed with applicants from Australia wide. The applications will now be submitted to an independent panel to make the final selections. Applicants will be notified in October and the recipients will be publicly announced in November.
Founder and Director of Sport Access Foundation Katie Kelly OAM PLY said "We have been overwhelmed by the record number of applications across the four grant categories. This interest is a combination of Sport Access Foundation growing reputation and reach as the number 1 provider of sporting grants in Australia for all children aged 7-17 years, of all pathways from grassroots to elite, of all sports and of every disability type. Further it also reflects the support required to close the equity gap in participation for young people with disability across Australia."
The final recipients will be decided by an independent panel of 4 members who represent our diverse community.
"We have 39 grants to give-away and 5 of those include Sporting Clubs. We seek the support of Australian corproates to help us ensure no-one misses out, and encourage you to put yourself in the shoes of young Australians who are too often faced with no opportunity to play regular sport because of their disability and the financial and social barriers that our Society puts on them, said Katie.
"Every year I have had the wonderful opportunity to invite outstanding Australians to form part of our Panel, in past years we have had Paralympians, Media Journalist and Broadcasters, CEOs and Executives from Corporate Australia and National Sporting Organisations Coaches, Administrators on board. We will announce this year's panel after the selection, as we do each year. You can view the panel members of previous years,"said Katie
