Acknowledgement of Country

Sport Access Foundation is proud to acknowledge and pay respect to our First Nations people and the land of which we stand on. We have presented our acknowledgement of country in this video to celebrate also last week being NAIDOC week.

NAIDOC Week presents all Australians a wonderful opportunity to reflect and celebrate the history and culture and the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC Week 2020 theme is “Always Was, Always Will Be” . This theme recognises and appreciate that First Nations people have inhabited and cared for this land for over 65,000 years. Also this emphasises the importance for all Australians to be held responsible to protect the land presently and within the future.

Our Founder, Katie Kelly was also involved in celebrating NAIDOC Week as an Ambassador for the AIS Share a Yarn program. You can read more about that here - https://www.ais.gov.au/share-a-yarn

Katie joined a group of athletes on the Gold Coast for a Yarning Circle and in this video Katie talks about the importance of reconciliation to achieve a healthier and happier nation. View video below:
