SAF Pathway to Paralympics Grant

The Pathway to Paralympics grant is for aspiring Paralympians. This grant will help two potential future Paralympians with the additional cost incurred when competing at the highest level.

The grants cover costs relating to new and upgraded equipment, to compete in an international competition in their sport, to access additional coaching support and to assist with travel costs (particularly where additional cost to travel with equipment or a carer/guide is required). The applicant will need to provide a written endorsement from their State or National federation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Recipient must have achieved state or national representation in their sport, and state their plans or intentions to qualify for the next Paralympic or International competition.
  • Registered with a Sporting Club or intends to use the funds join a Sporting Club.
  • The applicant will need to provide a written endorsement from their State or National federation.
  • Applications will close on Friday 21st August, 2020.
  • Recipients notified by the end of October.
  • Previous recipients will not be able to apply for 2020 grants.
  • Funds are to be spent by 1 March 2021.
  • All receipts and acquittals forms must be submitted.
  • If awarded a grant, accept the T&Cs including publishing details of your name, age, place of residence, sporting club, and photos.

Funding from this grant will. be allocated to a program/s that improves opportunities for First Nations young girls and teenagers from the Bundjalung country to access sport. The grant will be a collaboration of SAF with the nominated sporting body.

BlueScope Sporting Club Grants are for registered sporting clubs (affiliated with a National Sporting Organisation funded by Sport Australia) who provide programs or are about to implement programs to encourage young children with a disability to join their Club.

Of the 2017 and 2018 Sport Access Foundation grant recipient Our Honor Roll, whose story do you relate to most and why?

The Harvey Heroes grant is provided to ensure young children aged 7-12 years living with a disability are linked in with a local sporting club. It is a requirement of this grant that you are currently a Member of a Club or that you provide details of the Club you intend to join.
