The Sport Access Foundation launched its inaugural grant in January 2017. Applications for 2017 closed on 30 April 2017, and recipients will be announced in June 2017.
Grants will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Sport Access Foundation to applicants who meet the selection criteria and best demonstrate the desire to succeed in their chosen pursuit and where the financial and moral support from Sport Access Foundation would further their education or personal development.
The decisions of the Sport Access Foundation for the grants are final and there is no appeal process for unsuccessful applicants. However, unsuccessful applicants may apply for future grants offered by Sport Access Foundation.
Dates and selection criteria for the 2018 Grants will be published here at the end of 2017.
As well as receiving a $2,000 grant successful recipients will also have access to:
A mentor suited for the applicant or their parent. This might be in the form of a Paralympian or a specialist within the disability sports sector. The mentor will be available for once a month sessions over 12 months.
A Sport Access Foundation starter pack, which will include samples and products from our sponsors and supporters, as well as a welcome interview to provide guidance on goal setting and planning.
Becomes a Member of the Sport Access Foundation and will form part of a developing Alumni.
