Katie was the final guest speaker for The PICA Group’s conference on the Gold Coast this month.
It was an opportunity for her to share her thoughts on inclusiveness in the workplace and overcoming adversity.
The 200 plus attended conference was sponsored by Macquarie Group, enjoyed hearing Katie’s own personal experience of adapting and modifying both her work and personal life as she adjust to gradual hearing and eye sight loss.
Katie spoke about her professional career and shared the story of making the Australian team for the Rio 2016 Paralympics.
“I always enjoy sharing the message of diversity and inclusiveness. We can only be enriched in our personal and working life when we truly allow ourselves to be open to the full human experience. It was really an opportunity for those in the property and investment sectors to consider within their own business how they embrace and adapt to change as well as integrate people with a disability in the workplace.”
The SAF was launched in early 2017 and has provided three grants of $2000 each to outstanding Australian children living with an intellectual or physical disability.
